5 tiny blue speckled eggs...
I discovered they are blackbird's eggs, I feel sad to think they'll never hatch. Hopefully the blackbirds have another more successful brood somewhere else...

I bet there's a cat to blame somewhere. We have a blackbird nest in the hedge that my cat keeps leering at!
I think you're right Fiona, there are 2 neighbouring cats in our garden every day sniffing around (and sun bathing!) Hopefully the blackbirds wil next somewhere higher next time!
Maybe you should get a Jack Russell?
I agree with you I would rather watch the wildlife - even though sometimes it is not all nice! Love the colour of those eggs.
